As an avid Pinterest user, I came across a great pin for using Dash and Dot in a game called Capture the Kingdom. After watching and reading about educator, Jake Lee we decided to try out his game and take it a step further for third and fourth graders. We played the game with the following rules: Students played with paper mats that were created with large sheets of paper. Then, they had to invent their own game. Some students decided to incorporate multiplication in their game. Some students turned their mat into a soccer field and used Dot as a ball. It was interesting to see what teams were able to come up with valid rules and an obtainable end result. It was a great learning experience, for sure!
